Mr. William Baker Hamilton
February 7, 1956 - June 1, 2017

William “Bill” Hamilton, 61, died on Thursday, June 1st leaving his loving wife of 38 years, Deb, two daughters and three grandchildren.

Bill who was originally from Pennsylvania married his college sweetheart at the age of 23. In 1993 Bill, Deb, and their girls made Georgia their new home. Bill was a lover of sports, especially his Red Sox and Philadelphia Eagles. Although, we will say that Bill became an adopted Crimson Tide fan once his youngest daughter and money went there. But above all, Bill was absolutely devoted to his wife and daughters. He was a father who always involved himself in every detail of his girl’s lives and supported, respected and loved his wife unconditionally. Bill always listened to people and never left anyone out. This translated into coaching his grandsons’ soccer teams, being a spin instructor at the local Y, mentoring many along the way, and always putting the needs of his family and friends first. Every Saturday, he would take his 91-year-old father-in-law out to lunch. They had such a special bond.

Bill’s favorite place was Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Ocean Isle was a magical place for Bill. He loved to watch the sunset and make the most of each day. Per Bill’s request, part of his ashes will be spread there.

Bill was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing. Bill always lived by the motto “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others”.

Bill is survived by his wife Deb; children Brooke (Tom) and Morgan (Matt); grandchildren William, Wesley, and McKenna; sister Beth and brothers Walker and David; and father-in-law Howard.

A funeral is scheduled for 11am Wednesday, June 7 at Alpharetta United Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association. www.heart.org
